I have been thrown into the world of thrift shopping. I am slowly learning the similarities and differences to the stores around me and making my own ‘favorite’ list of local shops. The last few weeks I have been exploring and scouring local resale shops in search of unique vintage pieces to ‘revive’. Here are a few gems I’ve encountered recently.
I have become obsessed with this end table. It’s priced so reasonably, I just have to grab it. Although with tables such as these I am tempted to sand and stain this piece, I think I may add some color and dimension to it. What color, though, is the question. Maybe a dark blue or gray? Possibly a two-toned with little stain involved? There are so many possibilities with this piece.
I love to work with seating and am excited to improve my upholstery skills. This wingback chair, priced at only $5, would be an immense challenge for me skill wise, but is an exciting challenge at the same time!
This dresser/buffet is in near perfect condition and I can’t wait to sand and stain the top to freshen it up, while paint the rest a modern color. The insets on the doors are sure to ‘pop’ with a little color!
I have my eye on this MCM nightstand and matching dresser. I found it at one of my favorite local shops and would love to freshen it up…yet it’s priced a little on the high side. It’s hard to walk away from awesome pieces like this, but I’m walking away with the hopes it will be waiting for me next week at a lower price! Fingers crossed!
These are just a few of the great finds I’ve come across recently. I can’t wait to visit another one tomorrow and find some more vintage treasures! Don’t forget to check back here or at our shop to see the ‘after’ pics of these items in the near future!
