Savannah Inspired Shutters

We have always had our eye on Savannah, Georgia.  Living in a cold climate like the Chicago area, we find ourselves ‘house hunting’ every January or February for a new, warmer place to live.  Every year Savannah tops our list as one of our favorite warm weather cities.  We love the history of the old homes and these shutters just jumped out at us.  This photo, as well as the photos in our shop, were found online, courtesy of Google Images, just to give everyone an idea of the style we plan to create.  These shutters, which hang on a historic home in Savannah, Georgia, were apparently painted this color blue to keep ghosts away which just made this shutter story even cooler for us.

At our shop, we want to re-create this rustic style of shutter for our customers.  We plan to paint them any color, although this blue is such a great color, and keep the rustic look of the shutter by distressing them as well.  We can’t wait to post some finished pictures of our own version of these shutters soon!
