I’ve been really excited about this old dresser. We found this curved top piece a few weeks ago, right around the same time we purchased our gray china cabinet, and as I was completing the hutch, I began brainstorming different refinishing ideas for this vintage beauty.
Here are a few before photos of this small, fairly lightweight dresser.
As I started to clean up and sand this piece, I finally settled on painting this a rich blue color.
I really loved the gold drawer pulls on this piece and thought the dark blue would enhance the look of this vintage hardware. Plus I love the classy look of gold and blue together
I thought the smaller size, would make this the perfect dresser for a child’s bedroom. The dark blue would compliment any child’s room. Yet, this piece has so many other options as well. The size would make it a perfect storage spot in a bathroom or office. It would also shine in an entry space or living room.
After painting this piece, I finished and sealed it with Annie Sloan’s clear wax. This wax protects the paint finish, while also enhancing the color – which gives it a slightly deeper shade of blue. Love this piece. Visit us today to see this piece as well as our other available vintage pieces.
