I love this little chest of drawers! We sold this piece so quickly, I didn’t have a chance to write about it. So, although it found a new home awhile back, I thought I would share a bit about it just to highlight one of my favorite pieces. To begin, you need to see a photo of this piece as it looked in the thrift shop.
Gorgeous, right? I spotted and loved this piece right away yet almost didn’t buy it! I’m not sure now what my hesitations were, but I’m so glad I talked myself into it. I loved the classic lines on this piece and the simple hardware. Although it was showing some signs of age, this piece was solid and I couldn’t wait to get started on it. Once we got it back to our shop, we got started on some quick repairs needed on the inside of this piece. Once these were completed, I got the sandpaper going.
The wood on this piece was such great quality. It felt so great to give the top a fresh start by sanding it down to the raw wood and applying a rich stain. Here I chose Jacobean by Minwax and sealed it with a satin polyurethane.
For this classic piece I chose my favorite color by Annie Sloan, Graphite. In the photos, this color always appears a bit lighter than it is in person. This color is a deep, dark charcoal gray. It always is such an amazing color and has yet to disappoint me.
